PK Education are working with a Sheffield secondary school who are looking to appoint a Resistant Materials Teacher on a permanent basis from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established Design Technology department with strong leadership, excellent workshop facilities, and a genuine commitment to practical learning.

The school places significant value on vocational and practical subjects, with Resistant Materials remaining a popular option  department benefits from dedicated technician support, allowing teachers to focus on delivering engaging and hands-on lessons.

You will be teaching Resistant Materials across KS3 and KS4, helping students develop practical workshop skills, problem-solving abilities, and confidence in designing and manufacturing products.

The school are looking for someone who can bring enthusiasm to the subject, maintain high standards of health and safety, and inspire students through practical learning.

The Role

Teaching Resistant Materials across KS3 and KS4
Planning and delivering engaging practical and theory lessons
Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback
Promoting safe working practices within the workshop environment
Contributing to the wider DT department and curriculum development

What We're Looking For

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
Experience teaching Resistant Materials within a secondary school setting
Strong classroom and workshop management skills
Passion for practical learning and student achievement

The school has a supportive senior leadership team, good behaviour systems, and a collaborative department where staff share ideas and resources.

This role would suit both experienced teachers and ECTs looking to establish themselves within a successful and supportive DT department.
