Role Overview

New College Durham is seeking a passionate Lecturer to deliver high‑quality teaching across T Levels, Apprenticeships and Higher Education programmes in construction and civil engineering.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging, curriculum‑aligned teaching for T Levels, Apprenticeships and Higher Education courses.
  • Support learners at a range of levels, helping them acquire the technical knowledge and practical skills needed for success in the construction industry.
  • Work with industry professionals and use up‑to‑date industry knowledge to enrich the curriculum.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and review course materials.
  • Participate in professional development activities, including staff development days.
  • Adhere to safeguarding and DBS checks procedures.
Qualifications
  • Experience as an industry professional in construction or civil engineering.
  • Experience as an educator or demonstrable teaching ability.
  • Strong mathematical and engineering background.
  • Suitability to work with children and young people (subject to DBS checks).
