LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT – ADDITIONAL Needs
Salary:
Grade 3, SCP 5 (£25,583) Actual salary £16,004 per annum approx. depending on years of service
Contract:
Fixed Term – 20th July 2027 (Linked to EHCP Funding so is likely to continue after this time)
Working Hours: 27.5 hours Term Time only (38 pupil weeks). Additional time may be required on INSET days for training which will receive an additional payment
Monday to Friday 8.45 am – 12.15 pm and 1.30 pm – 3.30 pm (27.5 hrs per week)
Start Date: 1st September 2026
Ridgeway Primary Academy has an excellent reputation and provides a lively and creative environment in which to work. We retained ‘Good’ in our most recent Ofsted inspection in December 2024 and we are a founding member of Primitas Learning Partnership, a Multi Academy Trust which seeks to make a positive difference in the local community.
Ridgeway Primary Academy (part of Primitas Learning Partnership) is looking to appoint a classroom support assistant to support children in KS2 with SEMH and communication and interaction needs.
The post is from 1st September 2026 or as soon as possible.
The post will be 8.45 am – 12.15 pm and 1.30 pm - 3.30pm Monday – Friday providing support for learning within the classroom. There is the opportunity to work lunchtime hours as well if desired.
We are looking for someone who:- Holds an NVQ L2/L3 Qualification or equivalent
- Has a good level of English and Maths skills
- Has experience of supporting children with ASC, SEMH or communication & interaction needs would be an advantage but not essential as training will be provided
- Whilst work will be guided by the SEND team, the successful candidate should demonstrate the ability to use their own initiative when required
