Supply Desk are seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to join a well-established specialist provision in Basingstoke, working primarily with students who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs from September 2026 on a long term contract that could go permanent for the right person.

About the ProvisionThis is a specialist academy catering for children and young people aged 4 16 with a range of additional needs, including SEMH, autism spectrum conditions, and associated learning difficulties.

Many pupils have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and require consistent, supportive approaches to help them regulate emotions and access learning.
The RoleWe are seeking an experienced and passionate SEN Teacher to work with small groups of students, primarily supporting those with SEMH needs.
You will be responsible for:
- Planning and delivering adapted, engaging lessons across core subjects (primarily English and Maths)
- Building positive, trusting relationships with students who may have experienced barriers to education
- Supporting emotional regulation, resilience, and engagement in learning
- Creating a safe, consistent and structured classroom environment
- Working closely with Teaching Assistants, SEN teams, and external professionals to meet individual student needs
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or significant SEN teaching experience
- Experience working with SEMH students (highly desirable)
- A calm, patient, and consistent approach to behaviour
- Strong de-escalation and behaviour management skills
- A passion for inclusive education and supporting vulnerable learners
- Excellent communication skills and a trauma-informed, restorative mindset
