At New College Durham, our Lecturers in Media and Photography play a vital role in delivering high‑quality teaching and learning experiences for our students. As a Lecturer in Media and Photography, your main purpose will be to deliver outstanding teaching and learning to a diverse range of students, using a variety of teaching and assessment methods to engage and challenge learners at all levels.
The courses that you may be delivering on are: BTEC Level 2 Diploma Creative Media Skills, BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma Creative Media Practice, BTEC Level 3 Extended Creative Media Practice (Photography).
You will be responsible for preparing and delivering innovative and engaging lessons, ensuring that all students are supported to reach their full potential. You will be expected to stay up‑to‑date with the latest developments in your field and incorporate this knowledge into your teaching to ensure that your students are equipped with the latest skills and techniques. You will also be expected to contribute to the development of the Media and Photography curriculum, working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure that it meets the needs of our students and is aligned with industry standards.
You will be responsible for the pastoral care of your students, supporting them both academically and personally.

- Contributing to the development of the Media and Photography curriculum and staying up‑to‑date with industry standards
- Incorporating the latest skills and techniques into teaching
- Collaborating with colleagues to ensure effective delivery of the Media and photography programme
