Learning Support Worker - North Roe Primary School - SIC

Overview

To assist in the management and education of children and young people with additional support needs (ASN).

A Learning Support Worker may be asked to work with any child or group of children either within a department or within a mainstream class. They may be asked to work alongside and with specific guidance from any teacher within a School. Work around an individual child may be based on an individualised education programme. All staff working with the child/young person must follow this programme, which may involve collaboration with professionals and therapists such as Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Child Psychologists, etc.

• Grade: F
• Pay: £1.5523 per hour inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance
• Contract:
  
  Temporary part‑time, 18.0 hours per week, 39 weeks per year
• Holiday: 39 weeks per year plus 6.24 weeks (pro rata) paid holiday to be taken during school holidays
• Duration:
  Approximately 9 months until May 2027; terminates upon return from maternity leave or resignation
• PVG Scheme:
  Candidates must join or update prior to formal offer
• Relocation:
  No relocation package
• Interview expenses will be paid from within Shetland
• Flexible working:
  Discussable
