About the role
We are seeking a motivated and resilient Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dedicated education team. This unique role combines classroom support with the opportunity to lead and deliver high-quality physical education (PE) and practical-based learning.
Key responsibilities- Deliver PE lessons and structured physical activity programmes to small groups of learners.
- Support the delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum, with a focus on practical, hands‑on learning.
- Plan and lead sessions that promote fitness, wellbeing, teamwork, and personal development.
- Work closely with teaching staff to adapt learning to meet individual needs of pupils.
- Provide classroom support across a range of subjects when required.
- Build positive, professional relationships to support behaviour management and emotional regulation.
- Contribute to a safe, supportive, and structured environment that promotes engagement and achievement.
- Assist in monitoring progress and contributing to individual learning plans.
- HLTA qualification (or equivalent experience).
- Experience working with young people, ideally those with additional needs or challenging behaviours.
- A passion for physical education, sport, and practical learning.
- Confidence in leading and managing groups independently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
- Fluency duty: accurate spoken English is essential.
- Hybrid working arrangement with an appointed contractual work base; commuting may be required.
