Teaching Assistant

Tile House School – Lillingstone Dayrell, Buckinghamshire.

Salary: £22,160.62 per annum.

Hours:

37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Contract:

Permanent – Term time only. Start:
April 2027.

About the Role

Tile House School is a brand-new specialist school opening in Buckinghamshire. We’re looking for passionate, caring and dedicated Teaching Assistants to help shape our school community from day one.

As a founding member of our team, you’ll have the opportunity to help create a nurturing, inclusive and inspiring learning environment where every pupil is valued, supported and encouraged to reach their full potential. Working alongside experienced teachers, therapists and education professionals, you’ll play a key role in transforming the lives of young people with Autism and additional needs.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Support teachers in delivering engaging, personalised learning for pupils with Autism and additional needs.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to help pupils achieve academically, socially and emotionally.
  • Help create a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment where every pupil can thrive.
  • Support the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), Behaviour Support Plans and communication strategies.
  • Encourage independence, confidence, emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
  • Prepare learning resources and assist with classroom organisation and educational activities.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, families and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver consistent support.
  • Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusion while maintaining accurate records and contributing to school life.
About You
  • Holds GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).
  • Is passionate about supporting children and young people with Autism and additional needs.
  • Is patient, caring, resilient and committed to helping every pupil succeed.
  • Enjoys working collaboratively as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team.
  • Builds positive, trusting relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
  • Is adaptable, proactive and ready to embrace the excitement of helping establish a brand-new school.
  • Is committed to ongoing learning, professional development and inclusive practice.
  • Shares our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Tile House School is an exciting new addition to the Acorn Education family, provisionally set to open its doors in April 2027. Designed to support up to 72 students aged 5 to 16, the school will offer a nurturing and inclusive learning environment tailored to meet the diverse needs of its pupils.
