Role Overview
Learning Support Assistant - SEN Secondary School, Bury
We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to support pupils aged with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, learning difficulties and communication challenges. The role offers the chance to work in a nurturing, inclusive environment with small class sizes and specialist resources.
Responsibilities- Support pupils with a range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, communication needs and learning difficulties
- Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual learning needs
- Assist with implementing EHCP targets and personalised support plans
- Support emotional regulation, engagement and positive behaviour
- Adapt learning activities so all pupils can access the curriculum
- Build positive and trusting relationships with students
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists and the wider support team
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment
- Provide classroom support, targeted interventions and 1:1 support as required
- Experience working with children or young people, in education or transferable settings (e.g. care, youth work, coaching, mentoring, psychology, or support work)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient, resilient and adaptable approach
- Ability to build positive relationships and act as a role model
- Commitment to helping pupils achieve their individual goals
- Genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
- Full time position with September and immediate starts available
