Location: Hartfield
Hours of work: 32.5 per week. Working pattern:
Part-time, term-time only (working for 39 weeks per year plus 6.05 weeks annual leave). As the position is part-time/term-time only, the above salary will be pro rata. Fixed term until: 22.07.2027 in first instance.

Groombridge St Thomas is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant from September 2026 until July 2027 in the first instance. Our Teaching Assistants play a crucial role in the day-to-day life of the school.
The post involves supporting pupils with their learning under the direction of the class teacher or SENCo. Throughout the week you may be working 1:1 with a pupil, with a group of pupils or supporting generally in the class.
Our TAs also play a crucial role in supporting during lunchtimes and PPA time.
The person appointed needs to have strong behaviour management skills, good communication skills, be enthusiastic, flexible and a good team player yet self-motivated enough to use their own initiative when necessary.
You should also have good numeracy and literacy skills/qualifications and prior experience of working with children. In return we can offer you a supportive school with friendly, well-behaved pupils eager to learn.
Salary:
Grade 3 - 4 £ 24,796 - £25,583 pro rata dependent on experience.
Term time only to include INSET days.

If the preferred candidate is found to be disqualified under the 2018 Regulations, the offer of employment will be subject to the application by the preferred candidate to Ofsted for a waiver and the receipt of a waiver from Ofsted.
