Title:
Instructor Demonstrator Plumbing
Location: Bersham Road
Contract Type: Full time/Permanent
Salary: £26,980 - £31,245 (full‑time salary, pro rata depending on working pattern)
The Institute of Technology department at Bersham Road, Wrexham, is seeking an experienced Instructor Demonstrator in Plumbing to support the delivery of high‑quality practical learning. Working within a modern workshop environment equipped with industry‑standard tools, equipment and materials, you will help learners develop the practical skills, confidence and professional behaviours needed to progress into employment, apprenticeships or further study.
The role will involve supporting and delivering practical plumbing workshop sessions, demonstrating safe and effective working methods, preparing tools, materials and equipment, and working closely with the course team to support learner progress. You will contribute to the development of learners’ technical skills in areas such as pipework, jointing, domestic plumbing systems, installation methods, safe working practices and general workshop procedures.
You will also support the maintenance of a safe, clean and well‑organised workshop environment, assist with learner supervision, contribute to record‑keeping where required, and help ensure that learners are supported to achieve high standards in their practical work.
Adherence to Coleg Cambria’s guidelines on Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Quality is essential.
Welsh skills are essential for this specific post. We are seeking candidates who can help us grow our bilingual provision and service. Coleg Cambria aims to actively promote and embed the Welsh language and culture. We are committed to providing opportunities and support for our colleagues to develop their Welsh language skills in both formal and informal settings. This includes access to tailored Welsh language training plans as well as incentive payments for bilingual delivery and services.
We highly encourage applications in Welsh. An application submitted in Welsh will not be treated less favourably than an application submitted in English.
Coleg Cambria is a ‘Disability Confident’ Employer. We are building a college that reflects the vibrant, diverse community we serve. We warmly welcome and encourage applications from individuals of all backgrounds, particularly those from underrepresented groups. Coleg Cambria is committed to safeguarding all learners, and we expect every member of staff to share this commitment.
This role is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order and is classed as regulated activity. It therefore requires an Enhanced DBS with Barred List check, and applicants must disclose all cautions and convictions, including spent ones. It is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with children. Disclosure will not automatically prevent employment; a risk assessment will be carried out but we may deem some convictions/cautions as unsuitable to work with children.
