Ranch Intern - Paid Internship
Timber-lee offers unique nine month paid internships in the fall or spring that provide hands-on experience designed to equip participants with ministry, communication, and teaching opportunities that are invaluable to a career in Christian camping, outdoor recreation, the education field, and many others.
- Guiding saddle trail rides and caring for the horses and other farm animals on the grounds.
- Teaching students how to safely maneuver on and around a horse in classroom settings.
- Operating tractors to drive hayrides and assisting with leather craft projects.
- Explaining the roles different types of animals play on a farm.
- Gaining hands-on experience through field experiences with school groups and youth retreats, and learning from seasoned professional staff.
- Working within Timber-lee’s Christ-centered community to support personal and professional growth.
Schedule:
40 hours per week.
Timber-lee is home to one of the largest residential Outdoor Education and youth retreat programs in the Midwest. The SHR interns have the advantage of working closely with many different aspects of these programs.
