We are recruiting for a Lecturer with excellent clinical and academic skills to teach across our BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy, pre-registration MSc Physiotherapy, and Apprenticeship programmes. These well-established programmes rank highly for student satisfaction and graduate employment. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and creative team, embedding innovative teaching and simulation opportunities, focussing on enhancing the student experience and sharing in the co-creation and delivery of these popular and respected programmes.
Responsibilities- Teach coursework for the BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy, pre‑registration MSc Physiotherapy, and Apprenticeship programmes.
- Deliver innovative teaching and simulation opportunities and contribute to curriculum development.
- Act as a personal tutor, using listening, interpersonal and pastoral care skills to support students and refer them to specialist services when necessary.
- Relevant degree in physiotherapy plus a postgraduate MSc, or a relevant first degree plus a pre‑registration MSc in Physiotherapy. Candidates with a post‑registration MSc nearing completion will be considered.
- Current and active registration with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Physiotherapist.
- A Higher Education teaching qualification and/or a HEA Fellowship, or the ability to achieve these within 12 months.
- Recent professional activity and up‑to‑date, sound knowledge of current developments in health and generic teaching skills.
- Experience of implementing creative approaches to teaching and learning in universities and/or clinical practice.
- Understanding of academic standards and the knowledge and skills required to foster the programme.
Desirable:
Post‑graduate qualifications, an active research portfolio, a Doctorate with supervisory experience, and physiotherapy clinical experience in neurological rehabilitation. The successful candidate will also educate students on basic science, patient management, leadership and professionalism.
Working Conditions:
0.6 full‑time equivalent, fixed term for 12 months. Interviews planned for the week beginning 27th July 2026.
