The school provides a nurturing, structured environment where pupils are supported to overcome barriers to learning linked to emotional, social, or behavioural needs. Pastoral support plays a key role in helping pupils feel safe, understood, and ready to learn, working closely with teaching staff and wider support teams.

Full‑time or part‑time
Start: ASAP

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide pastoral and emotional support to pupils on a 1:1 or small‑group basis.
  • Support pupils experiencing challenges such as anxiety, low confidence, emotional dysregulation, or difficulties with peer relationships.
  • Act as a trusted adult, offering a calm, consistent presence throughout the school day.
  • Support pupils during lessons, transitions, and unstructured times
    , helping them remain engaged and regulated.
  • Deliver or support targeted interventions linked to wellbeing, social skills, and emotional development.
  • Work closely with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals to support individual pastoral plans.
  • Monitor and record pupil wellbeing, behaviour, and engagement, sharing updates with relevant staff.
Pre‑requisites:
  • Experience working with children or young people in a pastoral, support, care, or educational setting.
  • Understanding of emotional wellbeing, behaviour support, and how pastoral needs can impact learning.
  • A calm, empathetic, and patient approach when supporting pupils facing emotional challenges.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive, trusting relationships.
  • Relevant qualifications or experience such as:
    • Pastoral or wellbeing support
    • Teaching Assistant
    • Youth Work
    • Childcare or care roles
    • Or equivalent hands‑on experience
