SEMH Centre Manager – Crawley

£30,000 - £33,000 per annum | Temp to Perm | Monday – Friday | Term Time Only

Are you passionate about supporting young people who have struggled within mainstream education? Do you have the confidence, creativity, and resilience to help re‑engage pupils who have lost their connection with learning?

We are working with a fantastic SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) centre in Crawley that supports young people who have been excluded from school for a range of different reasons. The centre provides a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where pupils can rebuild their confidence, improve their attendance, and rediscover a love for education.

We are looking for a confident and enthusiastic Centre Manager to take responsibility for the day‑to‑day running of the centre, delivering engaging sessions and supporting pupils to make positive changes.

The Role of a Centre Manager:
  • Run a well established centre for young people with SEMH challenges.
  • Lead and deliver creative and engaging sessions for young people with SEMH needs
  • Manage behaviour effectively and confidently, creating a calm and positive learning environment
  • Work closely with Support Assistants to provide consistent support and encouragement
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, helping them rebuild confidence and engagement with education
  • Support pupils with their personal development, attendance, and future goals
  • Help prepare young people for successful transitions back into education or their next steps
  • Take ownership of the daily running of the centre
  • Use your creativity to make learning enjoyable, practical, and meaningful

Please note:
This centre does not tolerate physical challenging behaviour.
The focus is on positive relationships, behaviour support, boundaries, and helping young people understand their potential.

About the Centre:

This is a unique and rewarding environment where every day is different. The centre works hard to provide opportunities beyond the classroom, bringing in professionals to inspire and motivate pupils.

The young people benefit from:

  • Weekly meetings and sessions with local police officers
  • Career‑focused talks and workshops from different professionals
  • Opportunities to explore future pathways and develop life skills
  • A supportive team environment focused on changing young people's futures
The Ideal Candidate :

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience leading groups or delivering sessions (HLTA, Cover Supervisor, Unqualified Teacher, Youth Worker, or similar backgrounds welcomed)
  • Is confident managing behaviour and supporting young people with SEMH needs
  • Has experience working with SEND (desirable but not essential)
  • Can build positive relationships with challenging and vulnerable young people
  • Is creative, energetic, and able to think outside the box
  • Has the confidence to take the lead and run the centre effectively
Hours & Salary:
  • Monday – Friday, term time only
  • Centre hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm (often finishing earlier depending on the day)
  • Salary: £30,000 - £33,000 per annum
  • Temp to Perm opportunity – initially working through Pink Tile Education, with the opportunity to transition into a permanent role with the centre

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to make a genuine difference, have freedom to be creative, and help young people realise that education can be a positive and rewarding experience.

Additional Information:

This role is being recruited by Pink Tile Education
, a specialist education recruitment agency supporting schools and alternative provisions across the region.

Initially, you will join the centre on a temporary basis through Pink Tile Education, allowing you to get to know the setting, the team, and the young people before transitioning into a permanent position.

We are looking for someone who is committed, reliable, and passionate about making a long‑term impact. This is not just a classroom‑based role — you will become a key figure in helping young people overcome barriers, rebuild confidence, and take positive steps towards their future.

If you are looking for a role where no two days are the same, where you can use your personality and creativity, and where you can genuinely change lives, we would love to hear from you.
