About the RoleWithin RNN Group, hairdressing and barbering skills are in high demand and in this role, you can influence and contribute towards the College's provision in this key area. You will have the opportunity not only to impart your knowledge and expertise to our learners, but ultimately will make an impact on the wider community.
In this role you will be delivering Barbering/Hairdressing level 1 to level 3 and deliver on evening courses as well as some weekend work and involvement in competition work. You may also be required to deliver on school links (14-16yrs).
You will be responsible for your delivery, planning and marking, and be prepared to internal quality check across all levels of hairdressing/barbering. You must also be prepared to take part in development where needed as CPD is an essential part of the role of a lecturer.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop creative resources to inspire outstanding learning and be responsible for the monitoring and tracking of learner progress to promote positive outcomes for learners on our hairdressing and barbering programmes of study. Experience of working with our awarding body VTCT would be ideal.
Play an important role in developing and creating resources, as well as tracking and monitoring students, to promote positive outcomes and achieve the key priorities for the College.
Qualifications and ExperienceEffective and motivated team player, with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with colleagues and management to achieve strategic and organisational objectives. Good communication is needed for clients and external stakeholders. An awareness of the importance of quality standards within teaching is needed.
Hold at least GCSE grade 1-4 (or equivalent) qualification in English and maths. Hold a minimum level 5 teaching qualification. Hold an Assessors award qualification. IQA qualification will also support this role but you will be supported to undertake if needed.
Hold a minimum level 3 in both hairdressing and barbering. Teaching and industry experience is essential.
Hold a Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths (or be willing to undertake).

Department InfoAs a member of the Hair and Beauty delivery team you will play an important role in developing and creating resources, as well as tracking and monitoring students, to promote positive outcomes and achieve the key priorities for the College.
Your line manager will be the Curriculum Manager. You will regularly report on your objectives to update your line manager regarding a range of KPI s including (but not limited to) student recruitment, retention, anticipated achievement, attendance and punctuality.
You will be part of a Curriculum and Department team and will work with other teaching staff to develop and share good practice in the area. You may also be required to participate in cross college teams or working groups on key projects.
