Bright Star Talent is recruiting on behalf of a specialist SEN school for autistic children and young people aged 11 to 19. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Instructor with a recognised Education degree who is passionate about supporting young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) to achieve their full potential.

The Role

As an SEN Instructor, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons and learning activities.
  • Support autistic students with a range of learning, communication and sensory needs.
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet individual Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) outcomes.
  • Foster independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and support staff.
  • Assess, monitor and record student progress.
  • Promote students' social, emotional and personal development.
  • Create a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment.
  • Encourage students to develop essential life skills and prepare for adulthood.

Essential Requirements

  • A recognised Education degree (essential).
  • Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
  • A passion for supporting students with Special Educational Needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, resilience and a positive attitude.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Knowledge or experience of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) is desirable.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
