Year 1 Teacher

We are recruiting for a Year 1 Teacher for a Primary School in Billinge (WN5) to work on a long-term basis starting September 2026!
This temporary Year 1 Teacher role is for September 2026. There are 26 children in the class and one full-time TA is working on a one-to-one basis with a SEND child. The school would like someone who has previous KS1 teaching experience and good behaviour management skills. With this Year 1 Teacher role, they are looking for someone who is also confident to deliver the Phonics scheme Read, Write, Inc.
Your role & responsibilities:- Teaching the children in class, ensuring they complete their work
- Guiding students through the curriculum, marking work, setting homework tasks
- Managing behaviour
- Upholding the school's behaviour and safeguarding policies
- Planning and delivering engaging lessons
- You must have relevant experience teaching pupils
- Hold QTS
- Knowledge of the national curriculum
- Be passionate and understanding
- Have confidence in managing classes of pupils
- Excellent organisational skills to keep on top of marking and lesson planning
- Good communication skills
