Registered Manager - Elms

Salary:
Grade 9, ranging from £41,771 – £46,142 per annum, plus a £9,358 per annum payable until 30/09/2027. You will be paid £55,500 per annum.

As a Registered Manager, you will lead one of Somerset Council’s short break homes for children with disabilities, creating a safe, nurturing environment where children can thrive. You’ll inspire and develop a dedicated team to deliver exceptional, child‑centred care while ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance.

Working closely with social care, health, education, and partner agencies, you’ll drive positive outcomes through effective care planning, strong multi‑agency collaboration, and continuous service improvement. Your leadership will help shape a high‑performing service that promotes every child’s wellbeing, independence, and inclusion.

• Lead and manage the day‑to‑day running of the home, ensuring high‑quality care and compliance with statutory standards.
• Oversee budgets, staffing, recruitment, supervision, training and service performance.
• Develop and monitor care plans, working closely with health professionals, families, schools and social care colleagues.
• Build positive relationships with children, families and partner agencies to achieve the best outcomes.
• Manage admissions, placements and service planning, ensuring each child’s needs are fully considered.
• Provide leadership in decision‑making, safeguarding and service development.

Substantial experience working within a care setting in a management role is essential, as is a genuine compassion and commitment to our children and team. You should be comfortable managing and monitoring a budget, and have an understanding of high‑quality care, impact and quality assurance.

If you do not already hold the qualification, you will need to undertake a QCF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).

• Permanent contract. 37 hours a week.
• Based in Curry Rivel.
• 30 days annual leave (additional to bank holidays).
