Design Technology Technician

Llanidloes High School offers a vibrant and flourishing learning environment, underpinned by a deeply caring ethos and an exceptionally dedicated team of staff. Our DT technician plays a vital role in the provision of high-quality Design Technology teaching. You will take on a wide range of tasks at work, including: preparing, assembling and adapting machinery/equipment and resources;

taking an active part in class demonstrations; ordering resources and keeping budgets; helping in practical classes; giving technical help to pupils and students; and always meeting current health and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

Preparation, assembly, and adaptation of machinery/equipment and resources; active participation in class demonstrations; ordering resources and managing budgets; assistance during practical classes; providing technical help to pupils and students; maintaining health and safety standards.

Qualifications
  • Have GCSEs (A*-C) or equivalent qualifications in English, maths and at least one science subject
  • Care deeply for the wellbeing and academic success of all pupils
  • Have good interpersonal skills, be a team player and be adept at working independently
  • Experience of carrying out risk assessment for technician activities
  • Have excellent organisational skills and a strong work ethic
  • Have a ‘can do’ attitude to problem solving

Final date to receive applications is Monday 31st August 2025. Shortlisting will take place on Monday 1st September and interviews will be on Thursday 3rd September 2026.
