About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, experienced and passionate Pre-School Leader to lead a thriving and well-established early years setting.

The successful candidate will inspire and support a dedicated team, ensuring children receive the highest quality care and education within a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment. The role focuses on the day-to-day leadership of the setting, curriculum delivery, staff development and maintaining high standards in line with the EYFS Framework and Ofsted requirements.

This position benefits from dedicated administrative support, allowing the successful candidate to focus on leading the educational provision and supporting children, families and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the day-to-day running of the pre-school.
  • Plan, implement and monitor an engaging EYFS curriculum.
  • Ensure children's progress is effectively tracked and assessed.
  • Maintain high standards of teaching, learning and care.
  • Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead and Child Protection Officer.
  • Lead, support and develop staff through supervision, mentoring and appraisals.
  • Ensure compliance with EYFS, safeguarding, health and safety and Ofsted requirements.
  • Develop positive partnerships with parents, carers and external agencies.
  • Support children to achieve their developmental milestones.
  • Promote an inclusive environment where all children can thrive.
Person Specification Essential
  • Full and relevant Early Years Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
  • Minimum two years' experience in a leadership or management role within an early years setting (Deputy Manager experience will be considered).
  • Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
  • Excellent understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and leadership skills.
  • Ability to motivate, support and develop a team.
Desirable
  • Experience of Ofsted inspections.
  • Knowledge of SEND and inclusive practice.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office packages.
  • Experience working closely with parents and the wider community.
