We welcome applicants from all backgrounds to join our supportive team. In this role, you will use your mathematical expertise, teaching passion, and collaborative approach to provide vital academic support, helping our civil engineering students progress and achieve their individual goals.
1. About the RoleAs a Lecturer in Civil Engineering Mathematics, you will deliver engaging, high-quality learning sessions tailored to the mathematical principles essential for modern civil engineering. You will work closely with students, teaching staff, and industry stakeholders to ensure our learners gain both the theoretical knowledge and practical analytical skills required for success.
2. What You Will DoTeaching & Curriculum Preparation:
Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality teaching and learning materials in mathematics tailored for civil engineering students, assessing and marking coursework to support academic progress.
Student Support & Tutoring:
Provide educational guidance, academic support, and personal tutoring, helping students build confidence in mathematical problem-solving.
Course Planning & Quality Assurance:
Participate in course design, marketing, recruitment, and self-assessment procedures to ensure retention and achievement targets are met.
Resource Development & Liaison:
Collaborate with colleagues across business areas, sponsors, and employers to keep course content aligned with industry developments and awarding body requirements.
Administration & Compliance:
Maintain accurate records, including registers, schemes of work, and student progress reports, while upholding safeguarding and quality standards.
Must-Have (Essential Criteria)
Education &
Qualifications:
Educated to a minimum of Level 5 in a relevant subject area (such as Mathematics, Engineering, or a closely related discipline), and holding (or working towards) a Level 5 teaching qualification (e.g., Cert Ed / PGCE).
Mathematical & Engineering Knowledge: A strong understanding of core mathematical principles and their practical applications within civil engineering contexts, alongside awareness of current industry developments.
