About Maranatha

Maranatha Christian School is a Christ-centred school serving families across Wiltshire and the surrounding area. We exist to provide an education that develops strong character, nurtures Christian faith and secures strong academic foundations for life. Our desire is to see children grow in wisdom, integrity, knowledge and love for God whilst discovering their gifts and purpose.

We are a warm, close-knit community where staff and pupils genuinely know and care for one another. Our size enables strong relationships, individualised support and meaningful partnership with families. We believe education is about more than examination results. We want children to learn about God, His world and their place within it through a rich and engaging curriculum shaped by a Christian worldview.

Why

Maranatha?

  • Small class sizes that allow genuine pastoral care and tailored, responsive teaching.

  • A committed staff team passionate about discipleship, character formation and high academic standards.
  • A creative curriculum with space for innovation, project-based learning and outdoor learning.
  • Significant professional autonomy and the opportunity to shape learning experiences.
  • Support from an experienced Teaching Assistant and a primary-trained Headteacher.
  • Supportive leadership and trustees who value biblical wisdom, prayerful decision-making and long-term school development.
  • The opportunity to help shape the future of a growing Christian school.
We Are Looking for Someone Who:
  • Has a strong and active Christian faith.
  • Holds QTS and has proven primary teaching experience.
  • Can teach confidently across mixed ages and abilities.
  • Is able to think creatively about teaching and learning.
  • Is flexible, adaptable and thrives in a small-school environment.
  • Brings warmth, creativity and high expectations to the classroom.
  • Enjoys building strong relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
  • Is committed to the distinctive mission of Christian education.
In This Role You Will:
  • Teach a mixed-age class of primary-aged pupils.
  • Teach all core and foundation subjects, including English and Maths.
  • Help children build strong foundations in reading, writing, mathematics and understanding the world.
  • Deliver a rich, creative curriculum shaped by hands-on and cross-curricular learning.
  • Teach the Bible and help pupils grow in their understanding of Jesus Christ and the Christian faith.
  • Help design and develop a vibrant Christian primary curriculum.
  • Play an active part in whole-school life, nurturing pupils in their daily walk with Jesus.
  • Encourage children to discover who they are in Christ and develop their individual gifts and talents.
  • Work closely with parents to support children's spiritual, personal and academic development.

Given the evolving needs of our growing school, the successful candidate will be expected to show flexibility regarding reasonable adjustments to the role as the school develops.
