SEN Teacher

Location: Chapel End

Horizon Teachers are currently working in partnership with a SEND school located in Waltham Forest recruiting for a SEND Teacher. This full-time position starting September will initially be long term through Horizon Teachers, with the opportunity to become a permanent staff member. The school meets the needs of pupils with a primary diagnosis of Autism and are looking for a SEN Teacher to make a meaningful impact in supportive and well-resourced environments.

Key Responsibilities of a SEN Teacher:
Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that encourages personal growth, emotional well-being, and academic achievement. Be flexible to work with pupils from 4 through to 16 years old Able to think outside the box in regards to delivering lessons. We have lots of tools to help support this, but our pupils need a bespoke and accessible curriculum Carefully track and assess student progress, maintaining accurate records and reports to inform future interventions and support strategies.

Utilize effective behaviour management techniques, de-escalation strategies, and positive reinforcement approaches to create a harmonious and productive learning atmosphere. What we are looking in a SEN Teacher? Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a proven track record of teaching students with special educational needs. Strong understanding of the requirements of SEN education, adaptable teaching methods, and a commitment to individualized instruction.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and a collaborative mindset when working within a multidisciplinary team.
