Hays Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Wolverhampton to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 2 Teacher for a full academic year position starting in September 2026.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for a Year 2 class and play a key role in supporting pupils as they progress through Key Stage 1. The school is looking for a teacher who has experience within KS1, a strong understanding of phonics and the ability to plan and deliver high-quality lessons that inspire and challenge pupils.

Your new role:

  • Full-time Year 2 Teacher position
  • Planning, preparing and delivering engaging lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 curriculum
  • Delivering high-quality phonics teaching and supporting pupils' literacy development
  • Assessing, tracking and monitoring pupil progress
  • Creating a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment
  • Working closely with colleagues, support staff and parents to support pupil achievement
  • Dedicated PPA time provided

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Recent experience teaching within Key Stage 1
  • Strong knowledge of the Year 2 curriculum and assessment requirements
  • Experience delivering systematic phonics teaching
  • Confident planning and delivering engaging lessons
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A passion for helping children achieve their full potential
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
