As our Teacher Education Lecturer and Teaching and Learning Coach, you'll help shape that impact through the people who teach.

You’ll join our forward-thinking Teacher Education Department as part of the Teaching and Learning Academy. The department offers a well-established suite of initial teacher education programmes and professional development pathways, supported by our partnership with the University of Lancashire.

You’ll deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across Levels 3 to 7, supporting trainee teachers to develop their academic understanding, professional confidence and classroom practice.

You’ll also coach and support colleagues, model strong teaching practice and contribute to curriculum development, quality improvement and the wider work of the Teaching and Learning Academy.

This is a Lecturer B role, so you’ll bring more than strong teaching. You’ll also contribute to course organisation, curriculum leadership, mentoring, admissions, marketing and the development of significant subject or programme areas.

• Teach across teacher education programmes from Level 3 to Level 7.
• Support trainee teachers to develop confidence, professional judgement and strong classroom practice.
• Model effective pedagogy, curriculum design and assessment.
• Coach and mentor colleagues to strengthen teaching, learning and assessment.
• Use current FE pedagogy, educational practice and sector insight to inform your work.
• Contribute to programme planning, curriculum development and course review.
• Support quality processes, including self-assessment and improvement planning.
• Use digital technologies and e-learning approaches to enhance learning.
• Support admissions, open events, recruitment activity and cross-college initiatives.
• Contribute to the wider work of the Teaching and Learning Academy.

• A relevant degree or vocational qualification.
• A recognised Further Education and Skills teaching qualification.
• At least two years’ teaching experience in the Further Education and Skills sector.
• A strong track record of student success.
• Expertise in FE pedagogy and current educational practice.
• Confidence delivering with academic rigour, including the potential to deliver up to Level 7.
• Strong organisation, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience coaching, mentoring or supporting the development of others.
• Confidence using e-learning, digital technologies and innovative teaching approaches.
• A Master's degree would be an advantage, or willingness to work towards one.
