Band 1 - £5,787.45

Based at Dalbeattie Primary School, working 9.75 hours per week, 38 weeks per year, you will undertake Playground Supervisor duties. You must be a team player and be able to use your own initiative, have experience in working with young people, patience and an awareness of safety in an outdoor play environment.

The hours support pupils when outside at the start of the day and  hours are broken up to 8.30am-9.05am/10.30am-11.00am/12.25pm-1.20pm approximately each day.

This post will involve working in all weather conditions and encouraging young people to interact with each other positively through play. There is also a role for setting up playground games and intervening to support pupils to make positive choices.

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
