Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant looking for a full-time, long-term role?
Do you have experience supporting young people with Autism and Social Communication needs?
The Role:- Support secondary-aged students with Autism and Social Communication needs.
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support both in and outside the classroom.
- Build strong, positive relationships and become a trusted member of the students' support network.
- Help students access learning and overcome barriers to engagement.
- Support communication, social interaction, emotional regulation and independence. Use positive and consistent strategies to manage challenging situations.
- Encourage students to develop confidence, resilience and essential life skills.
- Work closely with teachers and the wider SEND team to provide consistent support.
- Adapt your approach to meet individual students' needs and communication styles.
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or working in a similar SEND role.
- Experience supporting young people with Autism and/or Social Communication needs.
- Patient, calm and resilient, with a positive approach to behaviour.
- Confident working with secondary-aged students.
- Able to build rapport quickly and form positive relationships.
- Flexible, proactive and happy to get stuck in.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Passionate about helping young people make progress and become more independent.
