Teacher Active is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced French Teacher to join a secondary school in Buckingham, Buckinghamshire
, for an immediate start.

This is a temporary ongoing position providing sickness cover on a timesheet basis. The successful French Teacher will work Monday to Thursday, 32 hours per week
, teaching French alongside Spanish across the secondary curriculum.

The school is looking for a confident and experienced French Teacher who can provide continuity for pupils throughout the period of absence. The ability to teach both French and Spanish is essential
, with candidates required to confidently deliver Spanish up to A-Level
.

As a French Teacher
, you will plan and deliver engaging and well-structured lessons that develop pupils’ speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. You will support students across a range of abilities, adapting and differentiating lessons to ensure pupils remain engaged and make strong academic progress.

You will maintain high expectations for behaviour, participation and achievement while following the school’s existing curriculum and schemes of work. Strong classroom management and the ability to quickly establish positive relationships with pupils will be essential.

You will also assess and monitor pupil progress, provide constructive feedback and support students preparing for formal examinations across GCSE and A-Level

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
• Substantial experience teaching within a secondary school setting
• Strong subject knowledge in French
• The ability to teach French across the secondary curriculum
• The ability to also teach Spanish – essential
• The ability to teach Spanish up to A-Level – essential
• Experience delivering GCSE-level French and Spanish
• Confidence supporting pupils preparing for formal examinations
• The ability to plan engaging and differentiated language lessons
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• The ability to quickly establish positive relationships with pupils
• A professional, reliable and adaptable approach
• Strong teamwork skills
• A strong understanding of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
• The right to work in the UK

• Teach French across the secondary age range
• Deliver engaging French lessons across KS3 and GCSE
• Teach Spanish where required
