The Role
As a Sports Coach working as a Teaching Assistant, you'll use sport and physical activity as a positive way to engage pupils and support their learning and development.

You'll help pupils to:

You'll be working as a Teaching Assistant, supporting pupils across the school day while using your sporting background to engage, motivate and build positive relationships.
For some pupils, sport and physical activity can provide a powerful way to communicate, build trust and experience success.
You'll use activities such as team games, physical challenges and structured sporting activities to develop confidence, communication, teamwork, resilience and emotional regulation.
You'll also support pupils within the classroom and wider school environment, working alongside teachers to help them access their education and achieve their individual goals.
About the School
The school provides a specialist education setting for children and young people with additional needs, with a strong focus on individual development, independence and preparing pupils for their future.
The environment is calm, structured and nurturing, with staff working closely together to understand each pupil's individual needs and provide consistent support.
Relationships are at the heart of the school, and staff are encouraged to celebrate small steps of progress and help pupils recognise their strengths.

Your experience could come from:

You could be the person who helps a young person discover a passion for sport, build confidence, develop new skills and realise what they are capable of achieving.
If you're passionate about sport, education and supporting young people with SEND, we'd love to hear from you.
