Are you passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning and achieve success? Do you have the skills to build positive relationships, maintain high standards and support students in making positive behavioural choices?

Reading Girls' School, part of the Thames Learning Trust, is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, resilient and highly organised Behaviour and Engagement Coordinator to join our dedicated pastoral team.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting student behaviour, engagement and wellbeing across the school. The successful candidate will lead the day-to-day operation of our Reflect provision, ensuring students are supported in a calm, structured and restorative environment while maintaining high expectations and promoting accountability for behaviour.

As Behaviour and Engagement Coordinator, you will:

  • Lead and manage the school's Reflect provision.
  • Support students to reflect on behavioural incidents and develop effective self-regulation strategies.
  • Facilitate restorative conversations and reintegration back into mainstream lessons.
  • Provide behaviour and pastoral support, including responding to On-Call requests.
  • Monitor, analyse and report on behaviour data and trends.
  • Coordinate suspension administration and support reintegration processes.
  • Work closely with parents, carers, teaching staff, SEND colleagues and senior leaders.
  • Promote positive attendance, engagement and readiness to learn.
  • Contribute to safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusion across the school.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience of working with young people in an educational, pastoral or behaviour support setting.
  • Can build positive professional relationships while maintaining clear boundaries and high expectations.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Is resilient, calm and solution-focused when managing challenging situations.
  • Has strong administrative and IT skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records and analyse data.
  • Is committed to safeguarding, inclusion and supporting every student to thrive.

At Reading Girls' School, we are committed to providing an inspiring and supportive working environment where staff are valued and encouraged to develop professionally. You will join a dedicated team that is passionate about ensuring every student feels safe, supported and able to achieve their potential.
