Music Teacher and Music Technician

This combined teaching and technical post sits in the Music Department at Helston Community College, part of Truro and Penwith Academy Trust. The holder would teach Music Technology, including the RSL Level 3 diploma at post-16, while looking after the department's music technology equipment and facilities day to day. The role is 0.6 fte, and the trust will consider one candidate covering both halves or separate teaching and technician appointments.

Qualified and unqualified teachers and industry professionals such as sound engineers are welcome to apply, but visa sponsorship is not available.

• Deliver the RSL Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma for Music Practitioners (technology pathway) at post-16
• Support students with music technology software, hardware and recording equipment
• Support the teaching of GCSE music performing and composing coursework
• Prepare and maintain music technology equipment and facilities
• Provide technical support to teaching staff and students
• Set up and operate equipment for lessons, performances and departmental activities
• Support the day-to-day running of the music technology provision
• Possibly teach some lessons at other key stages, to be discussed at interview

• Practical experience of music technology, recording and audio production

• Strong knowledge of music technology, recording and audio production
• Competent music performer
