The Process Field Operator reports to the Process Shift Supervisor and takes direction from the Console Operator, this role serves as the primary point of contact for field operations and related equipment during assigned shifts. The Process Field Operator is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the LNG facility, working collaboratively with Operations and Maintenance teams to manage and optimize plant performance.

Responsibilities
  • Operate and monitor field process equipment in compliance with all company safety and environmental policies, maintaining regulatory compliance, reliability, and efficiency. Report safety and environmental concerns, incidents, or irregularities promptly.
  • Maintain operable systems for effective emergency response and serve as first-line incident controller, ensuring all associated safety and environmental documentation is completed.
  • Assist with the pre-commissioning, commissioning, startup, and initial operation of pretreatment, liquefaction, storage, and loading systems, as part of the integrated commissioning and start-up team(s) with the EPC contractor.
  • Serve as the focal point for process‑related field operations during the shift, coordinating with the DCS Operator–Process, and communicate process changes impacting upstream or downstream facilities.
  • Control and monitor process operations within defined limits and procedures to meet production plans and product quality specifications, troubleshooting issues, and responding to upsets or emergencies as required.
  • Support and apply equipment clearance and permit-to-work systems such as PTW/LOTO, job safety analysis, work authorization, confined space, and hot work.
  • Align and adjust plant systems and equipment as directed, operating manual/local pumps, valves, and PLC/control systems to collect, analyze, and input operational data.
  • Conduct equipment inspections and operational rounds, interpreting readings from instrumentation, meters, and gauges to ensure proper functioning and recording information in shift logs per plant procedures.
  • Monitor off‑loading of aqueous ammonia and other bulk chemicals at the site, ensuring safe and compliant handling.
  • Provide technical and procedural support during the shift to identify reliability issues and communicate them effectively to relevant departments.
  • Participate in the development and updating of operating procedures, manuals, and the Operations Training Program.
  • Act as a mentor within the training program, providing meaningful job assignments, on‑the‑job coaching, and progress monitoring for plant operators and trainees.
  • Maintain current skills and qualifications through scheduled refresher training and continuous learning to enhance process understanding and performance.
Education and Certifications

Associate degree in related field, relevant military training or equivalent experience. High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) is required.

Experience

3 to five (5) years of operations experience in energy industry. Experience in operations commissioning, startup & operations in oil & gas, petrochemical facilities experience desired.
