Astute's Power Team is partnering with a leading energy provider to recruit a Plant Operator to work at an Energy from Waste plant in Worcestershire.
The Plant Operator role comes with a competitive salary and benefits package.
If you're an experienced operator within a heavy industrial setting, preferably with steam raising plant, or a Navy leaver looking to build on their watchkeeping experience.
Responsibilities and duties of the Plant Operator role- Safely and efficiently operate the Energy from Waste facility in line with operational procedures
- Monitor and control plant operations from the central control room using computer-based control systems
- Carry out routine plant inspections, operational checks and testing to ensure equipment is operating correctly
- Monitor plant performance and identify any issues or abnormalities, escalating where required
- Monitor CCTV and site security systems as part of the safe and secure operation of the facility
- Record, analyse and report operational data accurately throughout the shift
- Raise work requests and report plant defects or maintenance requirements when identified
- Support emergency response procedures and follow operational instructions during incidents
- Monitor consumables and residue levels to help maintain continuous plant operation
- Complete accurate shift logs and detailed handovers to ensure effective communication between shifts
- Experience working shifts within a continuous process or industrial environment
- Experience with in power generation, Energy from Waste, defence or a similar operational environment would be advantageous
- Understanding of industrial plant operations, safe working practices and Health, Safety and Environmental requirements
- Good computer literacy with the ability to operate computer-based control and monitoring systems
- Happy to work a rotating shift pattern including days, nights, weekends and bank holidays
- Calm and logical, with the ability to identify issues and make appropriate decisions
- Reliable and adaptable, with a flexible approach to working within a rotating shift team
- A strong communicator who can work effectively both independently and as part of a wider operational team
