About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Health & Safety Advisor to join the project team on a new dock development. This is a high-profile, fast-paced construction environment requiring a proactive and hands-on H&S professional with strong site presence and excellent communication skills.
You will play a key role in maintaining the highest health and safety standards across the project, supporting site teams, contractors, and management to ensure full compliance with statutory and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Delivering site inductions for all personnel
* Conducting regular site walk-arounds and safety inspections
* Leading and supporting H&S briefings / toolbox talks
* Carrying out formal inspections and audits, reporting findings and close-out actions
* Reviewing and approving RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements)
* Investigating incidents and near misses, producing clear and thorough incident reports
* Providing practical H&S advice and guidance to site management and subcontractors
* Promoting a strong, positive safety culture across the project
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Senior Health & Safety Advisor on construction or infrastructure projects
* Strong working knowledge of UK H&S legislation and best practice
* Experience with marine, dock, or heavy civil engineering projects (highly desirable)
* Competent in RAMS review, audits, inspections, and incident investigations
* NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent) – essential
* Must have IOSH managing safely or an SMSTS
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Proactive, confident, and able to challenge unsafe behaviours when required
