Highway Inspector

Our client, a prominent organisation in the highways sector, is currently seeking a skilled Highway Inspector to join their team on a contract basis. This role involves conducting rigorous safety inspections within the clients road network and ensuring compliance with inspection schedules and legal requirements.

• Conducting highways safety inspections as detailed in the Inspection Schedule
• Performing both walked and driven inspections independently and with others
• Assessing and responding to stakeholder enquiries related to highways
• Ensuring inspection processes and procedures align with service and legal standards
• Recording and uploading inspection and photographic files to the asset management system
• Identifying issues of concern to residents and stakeholders in inspection areas
• Reporting network issues not covered by the inspection regime for overall network betterment
• Providing information to Local Highways Officers on highway conditions and improvements
• Working closely with the operations team to ensure timely and standardised defect repairs
• Preparing statements and documentation and giving evidence in court if necessary
• Supporting insurance claim defences with relevant evidence
• Participating in Performance and Development Reviews
• Delivering elements of the maintenance contract as defined by the Asset Manager
• Ensuring all related service performance indicators and contractual obligations are met
• Helping to deliver business plan objectives

• Possession of a full UK driving licence
• Lantra Highways Safety Inspector qualification
• Experience using Confirm software
• Competent IT skills with adaptability to various software and hardware
• Experience in highway maintenance and/or with an asset management system
