Recent Electronic Engineering graduate (or soon to qualify)? Launch your career in real-world hardware product development with my client, a forward-thinking leader in advanced electronics solutions. I am recruiting a talented Graduate Component Engineer to join their Hardware Design team.
This role builds a strong foundation in component selection, supply chain, compliance, and electronics, offering structured exposure and clear progression toward a Hardware Design Engineer position.
As a Component Engineer, you'll support the full component lifecycle in innovative products, collaborating closely with design, manufacturing, quality, and procurement teams from concept to production.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with selection, approval, and qualification of electronic components
- Evaluate alternatives, second sources, and parametric comparisons
- Maintain component libraries and databases
- Monitor lifecycle status (NRND, LTB, EOL) and support obsolescence mitigation
- Contribute to last-time-buy analysis, BOM generation, and risk assessments
- Ensure compliance with standards and regulations (RoHS, REACH, etc.)
- Support component and product testing/evaluation
- Liaise with suppliers for technical data and availability
- Help improve selection processes and standards
- Join training, seminars, trade shows, and audits
What We're Looking For:
- Degree (recent or imminent) in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or related field
- Familiarity with schematic/PCB tools, datasheets, and BOMs
- Multi-disciplinary team experience (e.g., projects/placements)
- Strong Excel/spreadsheet skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration abilities
- Ability to prioritise and work effectively
