Salary: £55,000–£75,000 per annum

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

The Role
· Take ownership of the site’s control and automation systems, ensuring they operate reliably and efficiently.
· Develop and deliver preventive, predictive and scheduled electrical maintenance programmes.
· Support planned shutdowns, system upgrades and long‑term improvement projects.
· Lead the development, integration and maintenance of PLC, SCADA and OT-based systems.
· Execute proactive and reactive maintenance across automated machinery and electrical infrastructure.
· Diagnose and rectify faults within electrical circuits, control panels, and PLC-driven equipment.
· Manage industrial communication networks including Profinet and Modbus, ensuring robust performance and cybersecurity.
· Support automation and digitisation initiatives by contributing to design, testing, integration and commissioning activities.
· Work in accordance with all company safety procedures, Safe Systems of Work and engineering standards.
The Requirements
· Proven experience in controls, automation or electrical engineering within a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
· Strong programming capability with Siemens or Rockwell/Allen‑Bradley PLC platforms.
· Hands-on experience developing or modifying SCADA systems (WinCC desirable).
· Understanding of industrial network architecture and communication protocols.
· Awareness of industrial cybersecurity best practices.
· Experience supporting installation, commissioning or upgrade projects.
· HV competency or Authorised Person training – beneficial but not essential.
· Minimum 2 years working within a fast-moving production or engineering environment.
