A specialist power engineering business operating within generator and turnkey installations is appointing a Technical Solutions Manager to strengthen its front end technical capability.

Generator projects are won or lost at definition stage. Scope errors, compliance gaps and unrealistic assumptions create pressure later. This role exists to prevent that.

You will take ownership of technical qualification and solution definition from initial enquiry through to contract award and structured handover into delivery. You remain technically visible post award to protect specification integrity and client confidence.

The Role

* Own technical qualification and tender scoping for generator installation projects

* Interrogate client specifications and ask the questions others avoid

* Define compliant solutions across generators, turnkey and electrical integration

* Build robust tenders that reflect real site constraints, compliance and installation reality

* Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers to specify correct equipment and options

* Support purchasing and ordering once secured, ensuring alignment to the approved scope

* Retain technical ownership post award, partnering with a Project Delivery Manager who owns on site delivery and commissioning

* Maintain client confidence during pressure points and change

You will run multiple live enquiries oritisation and disciplined thinking are essential.

What We’re Looking For

* Strong electrical background with credible generator systems experience

* Practical exposure in delivery, commissioning, engineering or project environments

* Working knowledge of LV and MV systems, turnkey and switch gear interfaces

* Ability to interpret, challenge and translate specifications into viable technical solutions

* Real world awareness of DNO engagement, live environments, contractors and existing infrastructure constraints

* The technical authority to be trusted by engineers, suppliers and clients

* Commercial awareness and ownership mindset without compromising technical integrity

Package

* £65,000–£72,000 base

* £7,500 car allowance

* Pension: 3% employer contribution with 4% minimum employee contribution

* Life assurance: 3x salary

* Sick pay: up to one month per year after 12 months service

* Holiday: 25 days plus bank holidays

* Mileage: 45p per mile for first 10,000 miles, then 25p per mile

* Overnight expenses: £30 meals, £20 allowance, £5 incidentals per day
