Treatment Operator - Waste Water

What you’ll do

You will be part of a Waste Water Operatives team responsible for protecting Scotland’s environment by ensuring waste is managed responsibly and constantly seeking ways to improve processes.

• Monitor and maintain treatment processes on wastewater, from sedimentation to filtration.
• Record key process numbers and file routine reports.
• Take samples, analyse test results and recommend improvements to treatment processes.
• Oversee regular maintenance to keep the site running smoothly.

You will have the confidence to work independently, good communication skills, and be comfortable with computer systems.

• Valid driving licence.
• Attention to detail and a risk‑free approach to recordings and health and safety.
• Ability to spot changes and trends and to solve problems.
• Willingness to work a standby rota for out‑of‑hours duties.

This role is Grade 4 with a starting salary of £31,640, progressing up to £36,460 based on performance. Applications will be accepted until midnight on 12 June 2026.
