The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing infrastructure project team as the Consents Manager. The role has been created to strengthen environmental leadership, support expanding project demands and ensure all statutory and secondary consents are delivered to the highest standard. Your duties and responsibilities will be
Manage all environmental aspects of the project ensuring compliance with legal requirements and ISO standards.
Work closely with project teams, stakeholders and the supply chain to meet environmental and sustainability objectives.
Apply for and manage all secondary consents required for the project and maintain the consents register.
Support the development and implementation of sustainability strategies.
Assist the project in achieving CEEQUAL or other environmental award schemes.
Maintain strong relationships with clients, local authorities and external bodies.
Develop communication tools including guidance, training materials, newsletters and alerts.
Identify opportunities for sustainable design, materials and construction methods.
Support procurement teams to drive continuous improvement against environmental objectives.
Contribute to community engagement programmes where required.
Facilitate internal and external environmental audits.
Assist in developing environmental and sustainability KPI measurement and reporting.
Communicate sustainability performance to site teams and senior management.
Produce case studies and capture best practice.
Support tender submissions and pre-qualification documentation when required.
Undertake any additional duties aligned with the role and business needs.
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
Experience providing environmental support at advisor level across one or more project sites.
Proven experience working with statutory bodies, clients, subcontractors and supply chain partners.
Experience delivering successful applications, schemes, planning condition discharges and permits.
Strong knowledge of sustainability and environmental issues in construction.
Working towards or holding IEMA membership or equivalent.
Ability to support multiple sites and manage emergency situations.
Good understanding of construction processes and willingness to collaborate with engineers to find environmental solutions.
Flexibility to work occasional out of hours when required.
It’s great if you also have the following
Degree level qualification in an environmental or sustainability discipline.
Experience contributing to CEEQUAL or similar sustainability award schemes.
Experience developing training materials or sustainability communications.
Experience supporting tender submissions or business development activities.
Strong stakeholder engagement and community liaison experience.
The setting for the role
You will work across multiple project sites within a dynamic construction environment. The role requires flexibility, strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with internal teams, external partners and local communities. Occasional out of hours work may be required to support project needs
