Position: Design Engineer – Ref: NO30
Location: Lark Hill

We are looking for a skilled Design Engineer to design and develop innovative mechanical and natural smoke ventilation systems.

You will play a key role in delivering compliant, high-quality solutions that meet technical, safety and client requirements, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders.

The role involves:

Develop detailed designs for mechanical and natural smoke ventilation systems using CAD and relevant software
Ensure designs meet functional, safety, regulatory, international fire safety standards, EN12101 and client requirements while aligning with client specifications
Collaborate with architects, contractors, and consultants to integrate ventilation systems seamlessly into building designs
Review CFD analysis to optimise system performance in fire scenarios
Produce technical documentation, specifications, installation guidelines, and product details
Provide technical support during early conception of the design, and throughout Design Pack creation
Research and implement new technologies and materials to enhance system performance

Key experience /

Qualifications:

Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field
Proven experience in designing smoke ventilation or similar building services
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, Solid Works)
Strong understanding of ventilation principles
A basic knowledge of building regulations, fire safety codes, and ventilation systems standards (e.g. EN 12101, BS 9999)
Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and compliance
Innovative problem-solver with a proactive and adaptable approach
Full UK driving licence
Experience in high-rise residential, new-build developments or communal building systems
Familiarity with Building Information Modelling (BIM) workflows

We will offer the following package:

Monday – Friday, 8.30am – 5.00pm – flexibility required (Permanent)
£45,000 dependant on skills, experience, and qualifications
