Full time/permanent – 37 hours per week (Mon – Thurs: 8 hrs, Fri: 5 hrs – finish early).

About the role

As a Graduate Design Engineer, you’ll support the Applications Engineering team in delivering aircraft seating design projects. You’ll work closely with experienced engineers and cross‑functional teams to learn, contribute, and grow while ensuring compliance with customer and airframe specifications and regulatory requirements.

In your role as our Graduate Design Engineer, you will:
  • Assist in customising and reconfiguring seating products to meet customer specifications and airframe compatibility.
  • Support delivery of engineering work packages for linefit and retrofit projects, ensuring quality and compliance with CAA, EASA, and FAA standards.
  • Contribute to project timing plans and help maintain schedules.
  • Collaborate with certification, test, and stress teams to ensure designs meet structural and airworthiness requirements.
About you

To help Mirus continue our journey of growth, you will require a minimum of 1-2 years design engineering experience. Prior aircraft seating is not a necessity, but we expect a willingness to learn, a passion for innovation, problem solving abilities and drive for operational excellence along with the following skills, experience, qualifications and attributes:

  • A degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent technical qualification).
  • Around 1 year of experience in a design engineering role within aerospace, automotive, or manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with CAD and PDM systems, including modelling and drawing techniques (e.g., GD&T and Solidworks).
  • A proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Good organisational skills and ability to manage tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Exposure to regulated industries such as aerospace or automotive.
  • Understanding of compliance standards (CAA, EASA, FAA).
  • Experience in production or serial manufacturing environments.
