We are seeking an experienced and proactive Building Services Engineer to join a leading Tier 1 construction contractor based on a project in the West Midlands.
The successful candidate will support the delivery of Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) packages from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract with potential for extension depending on project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage M&E subcontractors across multiple live projects
- Review technical drawings, specifications, and design information
- Support project teams through procurement, installation, commissioning, and handover phases
- Monitor progress against programme and report on key milestones
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality, and environmental standards
- Attend and lead coordination meetings with consultants, subcontractors, and client teams
- Identify and resolve technical and operational issues on site
- Assist with value engineering and buildability reviews
- Ensure all commissioning documentation and O&M manuals are completed accurately
- Maintain strong stakeholder relationships throughout the project lifecycle
Candidate Requirements
- Degree or HNC/HND qualified in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
- Previous experience working with a main contractor or major M&E subcontractor
- Proven experience delivering building services packages on large-scale construction projects
- Strong technical understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
- Knowledge of current UK building regulations and industry standards
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to projects nationwide
