A leading Main Contractor is seeking an experienced Senior M&E Estimator to support the delivery of major construction projects across the North West on a freelance basis. Project values range from 50m - 250m so experience on these values is required.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business with a strong pipeline of high-value projects, offering a highly competitive day rate and flexible hybrid working arrangements.

The successful candidate will play a key role within the commercial and pre-construction team, taking responsibility for both M&E estimating activities and the management of NEC contract compensation events across major schemes.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and managing detailed M&E cost plans and estimates
• Supporting pre-construction and tendering activities
• Overseeing NEC compensation events and change management processes
• Working closely with project delivery, commercial, and design teams
• Reviewing subcontractor pricing and assessing value engineering opportunities
• Providing commercial support across large-scale construction projects
• Ensuring accurate reporting and cost control throughout project life cycles

• Proven experience as a Senior M&E Cost Planner / M&E Estimator within a Main Contractor environment
• Strong background delivering major construction projects
• Extensive knowledge of NEC contracts and compensation event management
• Ability to work collaboratively across commercial and operational teams
• Excellent commercial awareness and analytical skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities
