An expanding and highly respected Ground Investigation Contractor are looking to appoint a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their growing London team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer looking to take on a more senior technical and project management focused role within a thriving and ambitious company.
The successful Senior Geotechnical Engineer will be involved in managing a wide range of complex ground investigation and geotechnical projects across the residential, commercial, infrastructure and industrial sectors throughout London and the South East.
The role offers the opportunity to take ownership of projects from tender stage through to delivery, while mentoring junior staff and playing a key role in the continued growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing ground investigation and geotechnical projects from inception through to completion
Overseeing site operations including drilling, trial pitting and logging
Preparing and reviewing factual and interpretative geotechnical reports
Client liaison and attendance at project meetings
Managing project programmes, budgets and commercial performance
Mentoring and supporting junior engineers and engineering geologists
Coordinating subcontractors and site teams
Assisting with tendering and business development activities
Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget
Requirements:
Degree qualified in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology or related discipline
Proven experience within a ground investigation contractor or geotechnical consultancy
Strong project management experience
Experience producing geotechnical interpretative reports
Excellent communication and client-facing skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable:
Chartered or working towards Chartership
Experience managing rail, infrastructure or large-scale development projects
Knowledge of contaminated land and geoenvironmental practices
