Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with motor and generator experience.

• Production of accurate manufacturing drawings.
• Production of full assembly drawings & parts lists from manufacturing drawings using Solid Works PDM.
• Modifications and revision of design drawings.
• Understanding engineering materials, properties & manufacturing processes of these materials.
• Aiding production with troubleshooting and design improvements.
• Performing mechanical design calculations, including:
  • Ansys FE Package
  • Stress analysis
  • Fatigue analysis of critical components
  • Modal analysis
  • Fluid dynamics for final fan design
  • Rotor dynamics (ARMD)
  • Comsol

• Minimum of an HND or equivalent in mechanical engineering or related subjects.
• Experience in drawing office methods & practices combined with good factory floor knowledge of machining & assembly processes.
• Good all‑round knowledge of 2D/3D CAD systems as well as Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Solid Works / Solid Works PDM or similar CAD software.
• Ability to work as part of a strong team, as well as making informed decisions when working alone at site.
