Health & Safety Advisor - Highways Liverpool £55,000 + Package
Take the lead on Health & Safety across long-term Local Authority highways frameworks.
You will be joining a growing delivery team supporting a range of highway maintenance, improvement and infrastructure schemes across Liverpool and the wider Merseyside region. As a Health & Safety Advisor, you will play a key role in ensuring safe project delivery, maintaining high standards across multiple sites and helping to drive a positive safety culture throughout the business.

You will be supporting a well-established contractor delivering long-term highways and infrastructure works on behalf of Local Authorities across Liverpool and the surrounding area. What you will be doing day to day
As a Health & Safety Advisor, you will work closely with operational teams and be trusted as the key safety professional across multiple highways schemes. Your responsibilities will include:
Advising site teams, supervisors and managers on all Health & Safety matters across highways maintenance and improvement projects.
Carrying out site inspections, audits and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations, HSG requirements and company procedures.
Supporting accident, incident and near-miss investigations, implementing corrective actions and promoting lessons learned.
Delivering toolbox talks, inductions and safety briefings to operational teams and subcontractors.
Monitoring subcontractor compliance and promoting a proactive safety culture across all works.
Working alongside operational teams to continuously improve Health & Safety performance across the framework.
What you'll need to bring
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
Previous experience within highways, civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (or equivalent).
A good understanding of CDM Regulations and construction Health & Safety legislation.
Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with operatives, subcontractors and management teams.
A proactive approach and a genuine passion for improving Health & Safety standards.
Salary and benefits
Salary of £55,000 per annum depending on experience.
