Assistant Geologist / Engineering Geologist

Full‑time position in the GEO‑DDD – GI South department, Geotechnical Business Unit.

As an Assistant Geologist / Engineering Geologist you will support SOCOTEC’s Infrastructure division in ground investigation and geotechnical services, contributing to the safety and compliance of major construction and civil engineering projects across the UK.

• Log soil and rock samples in accordance with BS5930:2015.
• Perform in‑situ testing and sampling to current technical standards.
• Assist with the planning and supervision of ground investigation projects.
• Work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team.

• Degree‑level qualification in a geotechnical discipline.
• Background in geotechnical engineering and ground investigation techniques, with knowledge of BS5930:2015.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Effective communication skills at all levels.
