The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an MEP Supervisor/Engineer to join a growing project delivery team working on major infrastructure and engineering projects. Due to continued project demand and investment in critical national infrastructure, our client is expanding its delivery capability and requires an experienced professional to support the successful coordination of Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health (MEP) works.

The Role

Working closely with project stakeholders, designers and specialist subcontractors, you will be responsible for ensuring MEP installations are delivered safely, compliantly and to the highest quality standards. This role offers the opportunity to be involved in technically challenging projects, gain exposure to industry-leading practices and work within a team that values collaboration, continuous improvement and professional development.

Your duties and responsibilities will be
  • Support the management and coordination of MEP trades and subcontractors across designated work areas.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure works are delivered in accordance with project requirements.
  • Maintain an understanding of subcontractor scopes of work and identify any changes, delays or variations.
  • Review installations to ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings and applicable technical standards.
  • Coordinate with project teams, designers and subcontractors to resolve technical, logistical and construction challenges.
  • Monitor progress and provide accurate records and updates to project management teams.
  • Produce and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) where required and support the close-out of corrective actions.
  • Witness testing and commissioning activities both on and off site and provide feedback on results.
  • Promote and maintain high standards of health, safety, quality and environmental performance.
  • Support successful project delivery by collaborating effectively with all stakeholders.
You will have the following qualifications & experience
  • Experience supervising, coordinating or managing MEP subcontractors within construction, infrastructure, utilities or engineering projects.
  • Ability to interpret and work to project specifications, construction drawings and technical standards.
  • Experience ensuring MEP installations are delivered safely, compliantly and in line with project requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve technical, operational and logistical challenges on site.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working collaboratively with clients, designers, project teams and subcontractors.
It’s great if you also have the following
  • Experience working on major infrastructure, utilities, energy or construction projects.
  • Knowledge of MEP systems and installation practices.
  • Experience supervising or coordinating specialist subcontractors on site.
  • Understanding of testing and commissioning processes.
  • Familiarity with technical specifications, standards and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and control systems.
  • Previous experience working on National Grid or similar utility projects.
  • Strong communication, coordination and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to identify and resolve on-site technical and logistical issues.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, quality and project delivery.
